SPECIAL NOTE: If you don´t have a reservation be careful in the port, though!

The reason is what the locals call «kamakia» (fishing spears). These are persons that hang around the port at the times of ships, arrivals, trying to persuade newcomers that they can provide them with the perfect accommodation. These persons, picturesque as they may seem with their shouts of «rooms, rooms», a highly unrecommended way to attract customers, may misunderstand your real needs and embark you on rather unpleasant adventures. So if you don´t want to leave everything to chance and pay the price, in all senses of the word, for your decision, the best way to find accommodation is to seek advice at the information office of the Association Hotel Owners of Paros inside the port, they will offer every possible information and will help you choose, among the many options, the one that suits you. Also you can ask for information at one of the many travel agencies that are to be found in Parikia, Naoussa and other places. Besides the hotels in Parikia, you can alternatively choose to stay in Naoussa, the second largest town, as well as in Drios, Aliki, Piso Livadi and other smaller seashore villages and resorts. There is a wide range of options to fit every taste and budget, small traditional hotels, bigger ones with more sophisticated facilities, bungalows, studios, rooms and apartments, as well as four big hotel complexes. And of course, cam[pings in various parts of the island. The decision is up to you, as long as you are properly informed, so that your choice will truly be the most suitable for you. Besides accommodation, the two main towns, Parikia and Naoussa, are also well equipped in every other aspect of interest to the tourist, bars, cafes, restaurants, small taverns, pastry shops, croissanteries, as well as shops selling jewellery, souvenirs and antiques. Moreover, Parikia and Naoussa provides banking facilities and a small public hospital unit offering medical care. Paros also has an airfield that for the time being van accept only small aircraft. There is a project, though, to expand it soon to international airport standards, so it can cover the islands´s growing needs. Parians are a warm and hospitable people, combining in most establishments these characteristics with the tourist professionalism you will expect to find. This is translated into good service and the feeling of security, comfort and relaxation that is of prime importance for every holiday maker.
